The Salt lick is in Lake Mburo National Park. The park is in Kiruhura district near Mbarara district.The salt link which many people know as Kate salt licks is just in the middle of Lake Mburo National Park. Of recent, the UWA built a raised platform that was hidden to one side of a nearby bush for the animals that mostly go there to lick the salty soil.

Tourists who visit Kate salt are happy to see over 6 different animals at ago licking the salty soil. These animals include the buffaloes, and a few others. For nature lovers, the salt leak is just the perfect place to do a nature walk from.
