DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE 10 DAYS BEST OF UGANDA
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On arrival at the airport, our company tour guide will welcome and transfer you to Kibale forest national park. On the way to Kibale, our tour guide will brief you on what is found in the park. He will also take you for lunch in a nice local restaurant. This park has plenty of primate species and much other wildlife. The journey will take 6 to 7 hours by road and only 50 minutes to 1 hour by air. On arrival in Kibale, our tour guide will take you to the lodge for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
After breakfast in the morning, tour guide will pick you up for transfer to the park for full day adventure. You will be meeting the park ranger for a briefing on what you will be doing in the forest. Besides the chimpanzees, the forest has other primates like Grey-Checked Monkeys, White and Black Colobus Monkeys, Baboons, L’Hoest monkeys. As soon as the chimps are found, you can take your time to interact with them and take pictures too. This experience usually takes 3 to 7 hours a day. Once you find the chimps, the park allows only a one-hour interaction with the chimps. After the forest experience, you will go for lunch and then spend the rest of the evening at your lodge. Dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the third day, you will serve breakfast in the morning. Our tour guide will then pick you up for transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. On your way to the park, you will have a stopover at Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves. Later you will go for lunch in a local restaurant. After the meal, our guide will take you to the lodge to check-in. In the evening, you will go for game drive in Kansenyi Plains, one of the best sectors in this park. After the game drive, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 4: Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning breakfast will be available at the lodge. Then you proceed to the park for an early morning game drive on other plains of the park. You will see plenty of wild animals like Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Lions, and many others. On this game drive, expect to see over 400 bird species like herons, cattle egrets, malachite kingfishers, and many more.
After the game drive, you will go for lunch and proceed for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel. This water body connects to Lake Edward and Lake George where you will enjoy watching plenty of birds ashore. You will also see plenty of wild animals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes along the banks of Kazinga Channel. This will take over 3 hours and later return to the lodge for dinner and midnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this day, morning breakfast will be also be available at your lodge, before you check out. Our tour guide will take you to the park for a birding experience at Queen Elizabeth national park. This will take like 2 to 3 hours while viewing plenty of birds at the park premises. Later after the bird watching, you will go for lunch, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for check-in at lodge. Relax and dinner will be available later on. You will be spending the rest of the night there at the lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
This day will start with morning breakfast at the lodge. Our tour guide will pick you for transfer to park headquarters for briefing by the senior ranger. The Gorilla trekking experience will start as soon as you enter the jungle which will take 3-7 hours per session. Trekking with the mountain gorilla families usually involves a bit of hiking through the forests. Guided by a professional ranger who knows the movements of the gorillas. Once you find the mountain gorilla family, you will get time to spend with them while enjoying their company. After some time with the gorillas, you will be given a lunch break to have your lunch. Which means everyone going for a trekking experience is supposed to carry a lunch box from the lodge. Immediately after the trekking experience with the gorillas, you will go to the lodge for checkout from the lodge. Next is transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is found in Kabale district for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 7: Full day in Lake Bunyonyi
There will be breakfast in the morning at the lodge. After breakfast, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride to check out the islands at the lake. A boat cruise and a nature walk with a tour guide as planned. You can choose to do zip lining or bungee jumping while at the lake. Later transfer to the lodge for dinner and a midnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On this day after breakfast at the lodge, our guide will transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. This is the smallest savannah park in this country and it’s near the capital city of the country called Kampala. On your way to the park, you will have a stopover at a local restaurant for lunch and letter proceed. Arrive at the lodge, check in to the lodge for dinner, and midnight stay.
Day 9: Full day in Lake Mburo
After breakfast, you will transfer to the park for a game drive in the savannah plains of the park. On this game drive, you will see plenty of animal species like Antelopes, Zebra, Buffaloes, Hippos, Topis, and many more. You will also see the 5 lakes found in the park getting yourself ready for a boat cruise later. After the game drive, you will go for lunch and then go for a boat cruise. This will take over 3-4 hours and you will see some animals like the Hippos, Crocodiles, Elands, Zebras. You will see some few birds like the fish eagles, shoe bills and others. Later return to your lodge for dinner and midnight stay.
Day 10: Return to Kampala for departure
On the last day of this tour, early morning breakfast will be ready at the lodge. Another game drive to see more of the wildlife as they graze onto this savannah grassland at the park. After this, you will go back to the lodge for checkout and transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe international airport. On your way back to Kampala, you will have a stopover for lunch and some bit of relaxation. Later proceed to Kampala or Entebbe airport for a flight back home.
